A note from the CBM board: December 2024
To all of the friends and supporters of CBM from the Central Brazil Mission Board of Trustees, Greetings and Happy Holidays!
The CBM Trustees held their annual board meeting during ICOM in Lexington, KY on November 16th. All eleven board members attended in-person, as well as many of the Haubner family, including Earl and Ruth Anne, and other guests. It was a great time of fellowship and business discussion! We are delighted to welcome our twelfth and newest board member, Steve Franklin representing Journey Christian Church near Richmond, VA.
As announced earlier, Michael Haubner will be taking over the reins of leadership for the mission and Earl will transition to the position of U.S. Forwarding Agent/Treasurer (with the help of other family members).
Michael is very excited for this new office and discussed plans in Brazil including the possibility of purchasing an airplane to expand the reach of CBM in the Amazon. The board approved a motion to start a fund-raising campaign for the purchase of a floatplane to be used in the Amazon work. You will no doubt hear more about this in the coming days!
It is of note that Earl and Ruth Anne were given a special award at ICOM for their 55 years of service in Brazil. We on the board feel privileged to serve alongside such a wonderful mission.
