Just finished talking to Sanderley and the situation in Manaus is very critical. They will need a miracle and soon.

Sanderley is much better and only using the oxygen when needed. He and his family are okay as is the rest of the boat crew in Manaus. People are dying in Manaus and the interior because of the lack of oxygen. The company in Manaus that produces oxygen can only produce 25% of what they need each day. And it is almost impossible to bring it in by boat or to take it to the small towns and villages in the interior. For the next 40 days in Manaus only one individual per family is allowed out and only to go to the store, drug store or hospital.

Sanderley is getting calls and texts from individuals in the villages wanting to know when the boat will be there again. Others calling the church in Goiânia (Pastor Agostinho) wanting to know when we will be visiting them again with medicine. We are now at Michael’s and will be until we return to Ohio February 5 so we can get our second vaccine on Monday, February 8. Our plans are to return to Brazil on March 10. We will spend some time in Ohio and also go to Teddy’s in Indianapolis for a couple of days to see him and his family.

We are still not sure when the boat trips will begin again. The villages need our help but we can’t risk having the Americans come on these trips until the virus is under control.
