| DEAR FAITHFUL PARTNERS, DECEMBER, 2009
We praise Him “who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.” (Eph. 3:20). As your missionaries, that is our response to what has happened and even to the future of the Central Brazil Mission. Our hearts are overwhelmed by his power and goodness.
We want to express our sincere gratitude to each of you who made this past year one to be remembered for a long time. May each of you experience a blessed end to 2009 and a very fruitful 2010.
The ministry of C.B.M. has grown and expanded over these 40 years. Not only in and around Goiânia are churches being planted but throughout the country and especially these last 10 years in the Amazon Region. Lynn (and Julie) Cleaveland, who was instrumental in getting us to go to Brazil, is now the President of C.B.M. We also have a very dedicated Board of Trustees as well as a faithful partner-
ship of which you are a part. Marlon and Yara are doing an excellent job as co-missionaries with us and the future of C.B.M. looks very promising.
This has been a year of celebration for us. We were honored by the preachers at the ministry convention in April for our 40 years of missionary service here in Brazil. The 50/40 Celebration in July was special since our entire family was able to share in the occasion. Then in September Earl received from the city council the award of “Honorary Citizen of Goiânia” for his years of service to the com- munity. We were also able to begin construction on the new “CBM Amazonia “medical boat and plans are to inaugurate the boat sometime around the middle of 2010.
As partners with us we need your prayers and financial support. During the year we have had to make some changes in our budget because of the poor economy in the U.S. (some support lost) and because of the exchange rate of the dollar. (In January the dollar was R$ 2, 40 and now in December it is R$ 1, 80).
Your faithful partnership is still needed as we finish the new medical boat and furnish it, as well as continue developing Project Grow´s “Olympic Village.” Your faithfulness in praying, supporting and visiting Brazil are vital to our mission work. Many needs of many individuals are being met and lives are being transformed by the C.B.M. Ministry.
